That's alot of guide right there..
Havent read it, but I guess Good Job :P
But I would never reinstall windows, because I want to make a counter-strike movie. I get the idea that your guide is maybe taking counter-strike moviemaking too serious.
Anyway, great for beginners :)

You have to do it every 6-12 months, if there damaged sectors they will be "fixed"
a defragmentation might help speed thing up but a full format is better
+ in my tut you also have codecs configuration ( "good" codecs from ffdshow not crap ones from ACE and k-lite ) that will suffer if you do not format after removing k-lite shit.
the general preparation is more for good playback and overall pc speed not moviemaking ( they are related no ? ).

Take care of your machine and a formating is completely unnessesary imo.
I still think you may be taking moviemaking too serious.
I just think everything about moviemaking keeps gettings more and more advanced, even tho alot of people think that moviemaking is long gone.

That is true, i did not say format every time you make a movie. format once ( and install ffdshow ) to get rid of codec packs and sh.t and also to allow the HDD to be repaired ( if there are damaged spots on it the format will fix them ).
