Anyone play an instrument?

#1 - 26. Mar 2012 09:21
Hey all! I recently bought an Epiphone Les Paul 100 with a Line6 Spider IV amp... finally. I know Chis aka snarvaj plays guitar but i was wondering if anyone else plays an instrument and how long. Anyone in a band and what kind of music do you play?

I play guitar... a little. I bought it at the end of September. It's an acoustic guitar, Epiphone Talent http://www.diez.co.il/image/users/98174/detail/big/2266101.jpg . It sucks but it's okay for a beginner.

guitar, no idea when i started... probably ~7 years ago

had an epiphone les paul, sold it and bought a telecaster, sold it and bought a ibanez hollowbody. got a vox ac15 and some old fender amp, stage 900 deluxe or something. majorly playing jazz and experimental shit

also since i played in a band i know quite properly how to play drums, bass & upright-bass. been singing aswell, even tried to rap D:

stuff i can barly use:
i made some horrible electronic music with fruity loops and shit, i can play basic flute and piano

and obviously:

fav guitar gotta be the telecaster, sad i sold it
first song on acoustic guitar: "what shall we do with the drunken sailor". 2 chords, pretty hardcore \m/
first song on electric guitar: rhcp - under the bridge

changing from my 10bucks-acoustic to an epiphone was like switching dimensions, fucking crazy

how about you anthony, first song? fav. guitar? how long you've been playing?

hahaha, this had me cracking up. My first song isnt even a song. Its the intro to Numb by LP. haha. How long have I been playing.... hmmm, well, I think I'm up to 4 days now O.o I literally just started learning. One day i woke up and said, I want to buy a guitar. Haha

Right now I'm kinda doing drills to stretch out my fingers and get my dexterity up. Just scheduled a lesson for Thursday so i dont form bad habbits :P. But i love just picking it up and strumming my own songs. so fun

I have had accordion lessons so I knew that to some degree, but it's a while ago now. I play a little on the melodica.

Congrats Tony!!! I'm really looking forward to hear some recordings :D I bought my 52' RI telecaster a couple of months ago, and it is fucking epic. It's a one of a kind, as my guitar teacher says, and I dont have a hard time agreeing with him..

I love that thing so bad.. mm just thinking about it makes me wet

My class was in Praha recently, and we did a class cover album. So I got some super sweet stuff being mixed / mastered as we speak. One of the solos I have is so orgasmically funky.. Cant wait to hear "final render" when our teachers gets done ..

Other than that I really haven't been recording much on my own. Just lots and lots of practising, and playing to have fun. Run up and down scales, Tony, and learn some tricky ass chords to get loosened up. Can't wait to skype with you when I finish this summer!:D

Damn man. What can you compare the solo to? I havent heard anything new from you since last summer. Your last stuff (the improvised session) was so easy to the ears. You have a real gift man. your stuff just flows so well.

I've been doing those scale drills and looking up guitar tabs for Brand New and Led Zepplin. I'm getting pretty good finding the right notes and not having to look at my picking hand. Ive been working on the Sweet Child o Mine intro lately. I need to play with the tuning to see if I can get that "whining" sound Slash has in his guitar.

Dude we need to definitely skype and get a session going when you can. it'll be sick to collab with you. Keep in touch brother.
