I ended up trying out CSGO Demo s Manager and I love it already :D
Do you guys use it now as well? At least for the frags themselves, or have you found out how to capture cams as well? Although you will have to enter a demo manually I guess, and find out the camera positions etc.
<video removed>
I don't even have a proper config, but I think I will have to fine tune some commands. Are there any important commands that I should know of? I have heard there is a way to get rid of custom skins for example, and maybe stickers?
I also tried some quick colour correction. Saturation mostly as I don't like the desaturated look of CS:GO.
Possible comeback???

Well shit! Â Look at you, Dec. Â I have not personally used the Manager and I don't think Niklas, Daniel, or Perra use it either. Â We still do it the old fashion way, but glad to see that it makes life easier for others. Â If you're serious about making a movie, I can definitely PM you some basic commands to clean up the demo and for customization purposes. Â You can definitely get rid of skins, stickers, and even StatTrak. Â Can't say I'm a huge fan of the overly saturated and orange look of that particular clip, but I AM a huge fan of a possible comeback. Â Let's go!

Please.
The biggest challenge that lies before me now, however, is finding appropriate music... but I will also need to get familiar with the various programs and so on :D

Are there any text-based moviemaking guides or FAQs anymore, that are up to date? xD
It seems everything is in video form these days, which makes it difficult to find a "good" (and up to date) guide.
Speaking of that, is your video guide still up to date, Anthony? Some things seem to have changed.
Otherwise I will have to ask a lot of (noob) questions here :P

I had trouble with the moviemaking cfg parent folder feature in HLAE+CSGODM, but I think I fixed it by not having that folder in the game directory.
Do I simply add moviemaking commands to the config file that HLAE created in the custom folder?
I think I have sorted out the basic video settings. Although I think I read on PANIq's old guide that FXAA should be disabled, but my results give me this: [ FXAA OFF/ ON ]
Are there any other graphical settings I am missing?

Eh, I put everything on max gfx settings except for Motion Blur and VSync. I have those off. Don't seem to have any quality issues . As for the cfg, you just throw it in the CSGO/cfg folder and exec. Post your cfg and I'll take a look

I haven't sorted any custom moviemaking commands, as I wasn't sure how the moviemaking cfg parent folder feature worked, but I assume I can put commands there and it should auto-exec(?) that config. And the reason I have that feature enabled is so my gaming config isn't affected (and my gaming cfg not interfering with the moviemaking cfg).
I suppose the first custom commands I want to sort out are the recording binds, for when I cannot use CSGODM:
bind F1 "host_framerate X; host_timescale 0; mirv_snd_timescale 1; mirv_streams record start"
bind F2 "mirv_streams record end; host_framerate 0" (?)
Before I start recording, I also assume I want to put the folder command in the config, for the images:
mirv_streams record name "G:\Images"

Sounds like you're on the right track. Will have to wait until tomorrow to answer you. Won't be home until then.

Do you still need to "unlock" CS:GO by downloading those files in your guide? I tried it but now it seems both HLAE and CSGODM refuses to boot CS:GO. Only works starting normally from Steam. Seems to "crash" if I put -insecure in launch options.

Negative. Don't need to unlock CSGO like we used to (at least I think). I simply launch csgo from HLAE . Niklas made us a batch script to do so

So, erm, how do you access those "hidden" commands now then, assuming that's still possible?
Do I still use cvar_unhide_all 1 (and sv_cheats 1)?

Yup yup. Most of those commands are just for cosmetic stuff though. All the real commands are built into mirv now .

It was mirv_cvar_unhide_all ^^
1) I am also noticing a few outdated / removed commands, such as sv_nompv, sv_nostats, sv_nonemesis. Though it looks like you basically only need cl_draw_only_deathnotices 1 for the hud-related removals?
2) What are the ways to reduce GOTV lag? In 1.6 there was ex_interp, and in your guide there are:
- cl_interp_ratio
- cl_interpolate
- cl_cmdrate
- cl_updaterate
I suppose I want to try different values for those.
Edit: My settings keep getting changed back to their default values (or even lower values). cmdrate and updaterate are locked to 32.

Aside from minor bits and bobs, this was my first time touching Premiere in almost a decade.
All in good fun, nothing too fancy. There is even a mask effect I fucked up and couldn't be arsed to fix. Watch it for the humour, as the editing skills of the other Stylies have put mine to shame ages ago :)

PS: I have now mastered the PUBG replay system and will be making a second video with slightly fancier editing, but the target audience is still the people I play pubg with. If you enjoyed watching the first one, though, stay tuned <3

I think 60 fps would be better for such videos? :)
Or would that demand too much of your PC (do you record live with Shadowplay)?

Nah 30 fps is fine, imo. Also I want to keep it light on my computer, as PUBG is notorious for having awful performance. My computer can run anything on high/ultra, but PUBG has to have everything on minimum.
Most of the recordings were not made with the intent of becoming a video, but rather saving moments. PUBG has a stupid system where every patch renders all previous demos unwatchable. So things are saved continously to avoid missing out.
I record with Streamlabs :)
